YAM, which means 'to eat' in Jamaican patois, was founded in 2019 by British-Caribbean chef Kai Semple, based in Copenhagen. Inspired by Semple's upbringing and as a tribute to his cultural heritage, YAM's primary goal is to create a unique experience by modernizing and revitalizing Caribbean cuisine. The aim is to create dishes that respect the origins but with a refined twist.
